The Nemean Lion represents Hercule's first labor. After a long battle, Hercules threw his arm around the lion's neck and strangled him; and he used the lion's own claws to remove the animal's skin in order to make an impenetrable coat and helmet that would be useful for his next labors.
Our lives are full of challenges similar to Hercule's labors. Each obstacle that we overcome teaches us about our attributes and prepares us to face more complex tasks. Do you remember the time you slew your Nemean lion?
